Su has had a lifelong passion for figurative art. She sold her first portrait drawing when she was 14 years old and painted her first mural at 18 years old.

Su studied Art and Design at Salford College's Adelphi Annexe (now known as the New Adelphi) and after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a BA (hons) in History of Art, Design and Film, she specialised in film production, furthering her studies at The National School of Film and Television. Su went on to work as editorial assistant in the film industry for directors including Michael Winterbottom (Welcome to Sarajevo,) and Tim Burton (Sleepy Hollow).

Su's love of drawing and painting then led her to focus more on portraiture, figurative art and tutoring. Besides doing commissions and exhibiting her own artwork, Su is also a tutor and manager at Nether Edge Art School alongside fellow artist, Gill Gathercole. In addition to teaching groups there in regular weekly classes, Su also offers 1:1 private tutoring.
